Two New MTV Reality Series Shooting on Maui

Not one, but two, new MTV reality series are shooting on Maui. After shooting pilots there in June, both got greenlit for 8 half-hour episodes apiece. "Living Lahaina" follows the adventures of surf instructors at Lahaina's Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy, and "Island Fever" depicts the relationship dramas and traumas of a group of young folks. According to the Star-Bulletin, an MTV spokesperson said that Hawaii's new 15-20% refundable production tax credit increased the appeal of filming here.
