"The Julia Project" Has Hawaii Ties

Variety reported yesterday that Deepa Mehta ("Water") has been tapped by Focus Features to direct "The Julia Project," a biopic feature about American interior designer Julia Mullock and her marriage to Kyu Lee, Korea's last crown prince. The couple met in New York in the 50s, got married, and moved to Hawaii, then Seoul. They divorced in the 80s. Lee died recently and Mullock still lives here in Hawaii.
