Apply for Hawaiian Culture Program Grants!

The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) has $350,000 to give away to "support programs that provide residents and visitors with unique opportunities to experience Hawaii's host culture" as part of its Hawaiian Culture Program. The objectives of the program include:

  • Strengthening the relationship between the visitor industry and the Hawaiian community
  • Nurturing the Hawaiian culture by creating visitor experiences, activities and marketing programs that are respectful and accurate
  • Supporting Hawaiian programs and cultural practitioners, craftsmen, musicians and other artists to preserve and perpetuate Hawaiian culture

HTA will consider film projects that fall within the criteria and meet the objectives of the Hawaiian Culture Program. The deadline is fast approaching: Tuesday, January 17th at 4:30pm.

So, download the
application packet (.pdf) now. Or, call (808) 973-2258 to request a packet or pick one up at HTA's office in the Hawaii Convention Center, 1801 Kalakaua Ave, Level 1. For more information, call HTA at the number above and ask for Muriel Anderson, Director of Tourism Programs, or Robbie Kane, Product Development Coordinator.
